Voici enfin de retour de LIMBONIC ART, duo norvégien de Black Metal symphonique au son très particulier auteur de quelques chefs d’œuvres du genre comme Moon In The Scorpio ou Ad Noctum – Dynasty of Death. LIMBONIC ART se démarque en réussissant à accroître la violence de ses compositions par l’utilisation massive des claviers. Il faut dire que le duo formé par Daemon et Morpheus arrive à donner des témoignages haineux d’une violence symphonique sans précédent.
Pour d’obscures raisons le groupe cesse ses activité pendant l’année 2002… ce projet est donc mis en stand-by pendant 5 très longues années. Il a fallut attendre le 06/06/06 pour que cette date endiablée rallume la flamme LIMBONIC ART !
Avec son nouvel opus intitulé Legacy Of Evil le duo norvégien a une nouvelle fois réussi son pari et a pris de nouveau le risque de vouloir tout complexifier sans pour autant aboutir à un chaos imperceptible. Bien que les schémas de compositions soient moins étoffés que ceux de Moon In The Scorpio, Legacy Of Evil reprends là où s’était arrêté Ad Noctum – Dynasty of Death dans tous les domaines : musicaux principalement mais également visuels. Encore plus dense, encore plus rapide, encore plus fouillé, encore plus violent et mystique, ce nouvel album aux cadences infernales des norvégiens se promène sur les terres occultes d'un Black symphonique dense et d'une grande noirceur (« A Cosmic Funeral Of Memories »). L’intensité est à son maximum dès les premières secondes. Certes quelques passages atmosphériques sont présents, mais cet opus se base principalement sur des tempos rapides soutenues par toujours la boite à rythme indestructible !
Les nappes et mélodies de claviers sont mélangées aux riffs infernaux des guitares (par moments assez Thrash comme sur « A Void Of Lifeless Dreams »), tout en étant aérés par des chants claires qui sont dissimulés avec parcimonie tout au long des 10 titres. Les vocaux de Daemon sont toujours aussi possédés et immédiatement reconnaissables.
Les plus vieux pourront reprocher à ce Legacy Of Evil d’avoir quelque peu abandonné les l’inspiration classique venant de Wagner et théâtrale présente sur Moon… bien que l’on retrouve quelques éléments sur le titre « Twilight Omen » : mais ce n’est pas au détriment de la qualité mais pour l’efficacité !
LIMBONIC ART peut se vanter de d’une telle puissance dans cette œuvre terrifiante de violence à la fois symphonique, profonde et solennelle, où la production est volontairement ambiguë. Le groupe ne doit rien à personne et n’a plus rien à prouver : il est déjà dans la légende.
