Mon Dieu qu’il est bon de voir que certains groupes perpétuent encore un Thrash de tradition, fleurant bon le moisi, les vacances sur un banc au centre ville, et les baskets qui puent la mort ! Loin des préoccupations actuelles de rentabilité, MUNICIPAL WASTE s’amuse, et par extension, nous procure des litres de bonheur qui enivrent jusqu’à la lie !
The Art Of Partying mérite son titre de bout en bout. Il n’est question ici que de classicisme teinté de crossover, et je doit avouer que je n’avais pas ressenti une telle émotion depuis l’écoute il y a plus de 15 ans d’Annihilation Of Civilization d’EVIL DEAD ! D’ailleurs, les points communs entre les deux albums ne manquent pas. Même hargne, même timbre de voix des chanteurs, même science du riff simple mais efficace, seule différence, mais notable, le fun explosif de MW qui contaminerait un banquet d’assureur.
Dès « The Art Of Partying », la barre est fixée aux montants, et fixée haute ! Les gratteux moulinent comme des bœufs, le batteur renvoie le mixeur chéri de Maïté au placard, et la chanteur couine plus sévère qu’un goret égorgé un beau matin de septembre. D’où le fait naturellement que l’ensemble envoie le pâté grave !
Les morceaux s’enchaînent, et on se prend à rêver, le paysage change, exit la sinistrose Metal-core, on ressort son short, ses bières, et la farandole flinguée du Thrash prend le relais. « Headbanger Face Rip », « A.D.D. (Attention Deficit Destroyer) », « Sadistic Magician » ou encore « Radioactive Force » poivrent le salami plus fort qu’une plâtrée de harissa avalée cul sec. Quant à « The Inebriator » et ses accélérations dantesques, c’est une dinde de 30 livres balancée à la gueule de Jean Pierre Coffe, persil gratuit enfoncée dans les oreilles !
Les MW sont des têtes de cochons, dans le sens nobles du terme. Ils refusent tout modernisme, c’est à peine s’ils teintent légèrement leur orgie sonore de quelques pincées de Hard-core du meilleur cru.
Certes, ça bastonne non stop, mais c’est ça qu’on demande. Un grain de folie, un bon coup de pied dans les burnes, et on pique le sac de la vioque qui passe !
Donc, soit vous n’avez rien compris au fun, et vous repartez lire Spinoza avec une verveine en guise de tord boyaux, soit vous êtes déjà barrés au centre ville pour dégommer tous les bancs qui se trouveront sur votre passage.
Merde quoi, c’est vrai, les caniches, ça fait chier !
