Les français sont ils donc devenus fous ? Je ne fais pas allusion avec cette question initiale à un certain dimanche de mai qui nous a vu changer de président, mais bien à la situation de la musique extrême dans notre (beau ?) pays.
Après les errances soniques de COMITY ou PSYOPUS, nous voilà face à un nouveau problème. Quid de la santé mentale de IGORRR et OXXOXOOX, les deux (musiciens ?) formant en duo l’entité WHOURKR ?
Ces deux acolytes, piliers de la scène électronique nationale, ont décidé de s’unir pour le meilleur, et (surtout ?) pour le pire, pour nos oreilles en tout cas.
Décrire leur (musique ?) est une gageure. Certes, on retrouve les deux ingrédients cités dans leur bio, l’Electronica et le Death-Metal, mais à ce point fondus l’un dans l’autre, qu’il est (très ?) difficile de ne pas considérer l’amalgame comme un nouveau style à part entière. La recherche sur le cri primal dont ils semblent être si friands les a portés vers des cimes jusqu’à lors inédites, tout du moins en ce qui concerne la quête de la sensation sonore ultime.
Tentez d’imaginer une sorte de mixture infernale entre un ATARI TEENAGE RIOT sous acide, avec une pincée de CARNIVAL IN COAL (vraiment ?) pas content, le tout saupoudré d’une fine couche d’ABRUPTUM survitaminé, mené par un IT à qui on aurait piqué ses Figolu, et vous n’aurez qu’une vue d’ensemble très, mais alors très globale de l’œuvre.
Ce CD fait partie des choses dont il devient très vite difficile de parler. Mieux vaut poser le (CD ?) dans sa platine, et se laisser porter par une bourrasque de violence déchaînée.
C’est une fête surprise ruinée par les flingués de GORE BEYOND NECROPSY. BRAINDEAD version techno. Peter STEELE en accéléré qui danse le twist sur du MERZBOW réglé en 78 tours. Symbole ultime de leur humour, les deux dernières pistes, « W », et ses huit secondes de craquements en stéréo, et « Hackta », confession définitive de deux allumés qui savent aller jusqu’au bout d’une formule impossible.
Ca n’est pas japonais. Ca n’est pas du grind. Consonne. Voyelle. Consonne. Voyelle. Voyelle. Consonne. Consonne. Consonne.
Déjà culte et forcément indispensable. A condition.
