Accusation : Tromperie sur la marchandise (possibilités : surdité passagère des musiciens, manque de lucidité, alcoolisme précoce)
Analyse : On tombe parfois sur une accroche qui laisse pantois. Surtout lorsqu’elle est lue à posteriori. Je cite : « ECHOES OF ETERNITY à été formé en 2005, dans le désir de combiner un Metal agressif avec une splendide voix féminine » (je n’invente rien, c’est la traduction littérale). Alors, je pose une question, les membres du groupe (hors chanteuse) sont ils déjà séniles, leur ORL est il un vieux militaire à la retraire détestant cordialement toute forme musicale qui ne ressemble pas au doux son du tromblon le soir au fond de la caserne ?
Où est la splendide voix féminine ??? Certes la Francine (c’est son vrai prénom !) à des avantages non négligeables, pour utiliser une image grivoise toujours pertinente, elle dispose d’un minois plutôt joli, mais son filet de voix me rappelle plus volontiers à la sinistre mémoire de couineuses légendaires telles que Lisa DOMINIQUE, ou bien encore Deborah LEE, que des vocalistes pures comme Ann WILSON ou Kate BUSH.
Elle flingue littéralement le potentiel créatif et instrumental de ses collègues par sa platitude vocale, léthargie laryngienne, apathie de la glotte, appelez ça comme vous voulez, et c’est fort dommage, parce que derrière, ça mouline plutôt pas mal, avec un habile mélange de Metal old-school, et de sonorités modernes. Alors l’album passe, et on en vient à déguster les passages instrumentaux, très honnêtes, jusqu’à ce que la Castafiore de frairie revienne nous les briser menues avec ses digressions orales qu’on croiraient destinées à un public de neurasthéniques accros aux cachetons.
Les riffs sont, sinon originaux, efficaces, les musiciens forts capables, le son plus que bon, la pochette superbe, mais malheureusement, tout ceci est gâché par cette voix insupportable. Le dernier morceau, le meilleur selon moi, reste digeste, car la gueuse se contente d’annôner quelques chœurs noyés dans le mixage, sur nappes classiques du plus bel effet.
Non par pitié messieurs, virez moi la taulière, et laissez la retourner à sa farine (Francine, je sors…). Ou, plus sournois. Coupez son micro, et faites chanter Christina SCABBIA backstage. Vous y gagnerez en crédibilité.
Pour une fois, on se passera de la blonde à forte poitrine. On va l’envoyer à Elie SEMOUN, après tout c’est ce qu’il réclame depuis longtemps, non ?
