La Hollande, l’autre pays du fromage… et du Death Metal ! Mes chers amis, voici venu la dernière livraison de notre boucherie favorite, Earache, qu’on a connu plus inspirée. NOX, puisque il s’agit de cela, est un groupe 100% Death, et quand je dis 100%, je pèse mes mots.
Les 34 minutes que dure cet album me font penser à la théorie de la relativité restreinte d’Einstein. Plongez vos mains 10 secondes dans l’eau bouillante, vous aurez l’impression que chaque instant dure des heures et que votre souffrance n’aura pas de fin. C’est ce que j’ai éprouvé en écoutant ce cd.
Quel est l’intérêt de ressortir une énième resucée de Blessed are The Sick de MORBID ANGEL, ou d’Iron Blood & Blasphemy d’ANGEL CORPSE ? Surtout si c’est pour jouer trois tons en dessous niveau qualité.
Alors ok, c’est efficace, ça joue très très vite, ça grogne sec, mais c’est incroyablement lassant. Je n’ai même pas réussi à extraire un titre médiocre ou au contraire une chanson au dessus du lot.
Le chanteur à exactement la même voix que David VINCENT, le batteur se prend pour Pete SANDOVAL, et certes la production est excellente, mais non, décidément, je ne peux me résoudre à l’indulgence. Le Death Metal, aussi jusqu’au boutiste qu’il puisse être, exige un minimum de finesse et de construction, ce qu’avaient parfaitement compris les deux groupes précités.
Pour faire partie de l’élite, il faut de l’intelligence, du savoir faire, de l’originalité. Bloquer le compteur à 220 BPM ne suffit pas. Une imagerie occulte de pacotille non plus, surtout depuis que Trey AZAGTHOTH est passé par là.
Ne croyez pas là qu’il ne s’agit que d’une humeur de critique qui a envie de faire une formule, je suis très sincère dans cette analyse. Je suis sur que certains trouveront leur compte dans cette réalisation, mais il ne pourra s’agir que de personnes consommant du Death Metal au kilomètre sans distinction de qualité. Comme je le répète, c’est bien joué, bien produit, mais sans aucun intérêt.
A tel point que lorsque j’ai écouté l’album, il était revenu au départ, et je ne m’en étais même pas aperçu !!
