Sextet crée en à l’aube des années 2000 à Chinon dans le centre de la France, SACHTA met en place un Metal déterminé et vigoureux, carrefour de la robustesse du Metal et de la vivacité du Hardcore. Après l’édition de son premier EP en 2003 chez Musicast, Modus Ponens suivi d’une démo 4 titres Brain Lifting en 2004, SACHTA se différencie des autres de par la puissance de ses deux chanteurs appuyés par des guitares au son lourd et aux riffs agressifs, dixit la maison de disque. Déjà, petit rectificatif sur cette différenciation avec ces deux vocalistes: à les lire, on a l’impression que SACHTA est à l’origine de cette idée imaginative de mettre deux chanteurs au service de leur musique. Dans le Hardcore, cela existe depuis mathusalem minimum, au hasard et bien BIOHAZARD justement pratiquait déjà cela il y quinze ans. Enfin bref, ne boudons pas notre plaisir sachant que dans l’ensemble SACHTA délivre avec Anosognosie un album plutôt bien foutu. Les deux chanteurs alternent parties criardes et growls bien sentis comme vous l’aurez deviné. Académique, l’opus ouvre avec une intro qui ne restera pas dans les annales. « Rostrum » montre l’étendue du son pratiqué par SACHTA.
La suite de l’album sera sans surprises. Une décharge de titres surpuissants où les français puisent dans leurs influences aussi diverses que variées : de la rage revendicative de « Worry » et des grosses rythmiques couplées de samples de « Quiet on The Lies » aux ambiances Indus de « Bury Me » ou « Tox Bless ». Des morceaux font l’apologie de la lourdeur et de la brutalité comme « Apologize Our Heroes » et son break aux multiples sonorités synthétiques, ressemblant en cela à du FEAR FACTORY premières moutures. Cependant, à ce niveau de la rondelle, le chant criard Hardcore devient vraiment irritable sur la longue. Par ailleurs, que viennent donc faire des titres fourre tout comme ces interludes dont « Mass Grave of Ghastly Dolls », un interlude piano/cordes qui aurait plutôt trouver sa place dans un album de Black Metal Symphonique. Cela brise un peu l’ambiance dans ce genre musical. Ou bien ce morceau de guitare acoustique « The Golden Young Wild Boar » censé apporté de la fraîcheur et aéré l’opus qui a plutôt l’effet d’un pétard mouillé.
« Thou Shalt Not Kill » et « Brain Lifting » et « Hail » sonnent en cela assez classiques, où tout est misé sur la lourdeur pour masquer le manque d’originalité et de trouvailles. Et que dire de l’intro de « Brutal Renegade » qui débute par un cri ressemblant à l’écorchement d’un cochon de lait suivi d’un scratch et d’un chant rappé. Non que je sois complètement hermétique au Rap, mais ici, c’est radicalement raté. Une grosse faute de goût. Pour finir, le titre éponyme de l’opus, « Anosognosie », piste instrumentale dont on ne voit pas trop l’idée d’intituler un album du nom d’un instrumental sans réelle envergure ??
Au final, SACHTA délivre un album trop long qui s’essouffle avec nous en prime. On perd donc patience. Malgré des qualités indéniables, SACHTA doit encore rechercher son identité musicale dans le but de proposer un produit plus homogène et plus compact.
