Un grand pas en avant. Les Limougeauds de OESTRE avait déjà séduit la plèbe grâce à leur première démo Biotope réalisée l’année dernière. Un quintet inventif et inédit proposant un Death aux consonances Indus au travers de l’utilisation de samples électroniques et symphoniques. Après Génération Spontanée enregistré en 2004 et le fameux Biotope qui les fit connaître sur la scène hexagonale, voici donc venue Le temps de la deuxième démo intitulée Nature Morte. Le projet OESTRE, apparu en 2003, a toujours été de fournir une musique moderne entre riffs poly rythmiques hérités du Metal et des samples symphoniques aux transitions ambiant provenant de la Jungle et de la scène Electro.
OESTRE ne se contente pas de construire des morceaux Death et d’autres Electro. A contrario, l’alchimie s’opère de manière fort habile. Chaque titre dégage quelque chose, on n’a pas l’impression d’une continuelle redite. Et ce qui nous frappe d’entrée, ce sont les accointances avec un groupe comme FEAR FACTORY époque Soul of a New Machine, des ressemblances telles que OESTRE est parvenu à tirer son épingle du jeu et à proposer une musique personnelle, aux arrangements apprêtés, farcies de riffs adroits et de plages atmosphériques artificielles réussies. Très chevronnés, les progrès en un an se font sentir grâce à un son et une production plus professionnel même si encore un tantinet trop étouffés pour les lignes de basse et les riffs trop grassouillets. L’aide d’un studio pourra sûrement pallier à ces obstacles sonores.
Même les parties vocales sont rafraîchies, une maturité émane de cette seconde démo. On sent le groupe réceptif à la critique et à la remise en question, on en conclu une véritable volonté de s’améliorer et d’évoluer. On ressent également que le groupe est investi et recherche toujours à apporter de nouvelles idées à ses titres. Opération réussie, alors que l’auto production n’a plus de secrets pour eux. Un travail un studio devrait rendre justice à cette formation sérieuse et travailleuse. Le mieux étant de se plonger dans les sinuosités de leurs atmosphères tentaculaires.
Le genre de groupe tirant la scène Française vers le haut. Un album est prévu pour mars 2007, on l’attend à bras ouvert.
