PESTIFIER est un groupe de Death Metal venant tout droit de chez nos voisins belges, et plus précisément de Liège. Avant de se regrouper autour de PESTIFIER, chaque musicien du line-up a eu un passé et une expérience dans au moins un autre groupe comme par exemple Antoine qui fut le batteur de HYDRA ou encore Morty le chanteur qui a fait ses classes chez SPECTRE et PHALLOMACHIA, pour ne citer que les plus connus.
La musique de PESTIFIER tire donc de nombreux avantages de l’expérience de ces membres, celle-ci est naturellement technique, jouissant d’une production remarquable, claire et précise. Cette démo a été enregistrée en deux jours seulement aux Ubix Studio à Bruxelles.
D’une durée d’un peu plus de 13 minutes, cette première démo compte 3 titres : « Wrested From Saturn » ; « Carcinogenic Matter » et « Solistitium ». Les premières impressions sont que celles-ci sont complexes, techniques et relativement inspirées. Le premier titre est assez surprenant, car il débute d’une manière très technique, avec un chant alterné à la fois grave et criard pour enchaîner sur une partie très rapide, brutale et hyper technique avec un chant plaintif ! Surprenant.
Une véritable personnalité se dégage immédiatement des compos. Le gros désavantage qu’a le groupe est le manque d’un second guitariste. Cela se ressent surtout lors du morceau « Carcinogenic Matter » et pendant le solo de guitare où la basse et la batterie ne suffisent pas. Heureusement que le solo est très inspiré mais je pense la musique gagnerait en puissance et cela permettrait au groupe de rajouter justement quelques solos tant celui-ci est une valeur ajoutée à cette démo !
Terminant par « Solistitium », morceau assez classique, on peut dire que ce premier enregistrement dégage une maturité déjà surprenante. Il est sûr que PESTIFIER devrait bientôt faire parler de lui, et je ne pense pas qu’il doit attendre bien longtemps avant de trouver un label. En tout cas cela montre que ABORTED a ouvert des brèches en Belgique et que son travail commence à payer !
