“Les années 80, c’est fini les gars!”. Rabat-joie !! Bon c’est vrai, les Americana, les jeans elastisse, les patches et autres dossards sont rangés au placard depuis bien longtemps maintenant. Finies les virées avec le gros Ghetto-Blaster, Mötley à fond la caisse, les binouzes, et les copines qui tirent la gueule parce qu’elles veulent aller en boite… En boite ???? Mais y’a pas de PRETTY MAIDS en boite !!
Heureusement, tonton Ronnie pense à nous. Ben oui, tout le monde ne s’est pas mis au Néo-Metal (merde, encore un gros mot dans une chronique…), et certains d’entre nous, peut être par nostalgie, peut être tout simplement parce qu’ils aiment ça, continuent de perpétrer la tradition du riff frais, des vocaux enthousiastes, et du party all night long…
CINDERELLA out, MÖTLEY risible, POISON over maked-up, nos idoles d’antan ont le teint pale. Heureusement, papi mortne2001 à la solution pour vous. TRIXIE, et son petit dernier, Shelter. Kézako TRIXIE ?? Oui, pas facile de trouver des infos sur le net, petit groupe, petit label, même pas de website, une aberration à l’heure actuelle. Mais il en était de même il y 20 ans ! TRIXIE, ben c’est à lui tout seul, le grand revival 80’s qu’on attendait. Allez on se la joue façon MAÏTE. Ouvrez les carnets de recettes. Une grosse pincée de DEF LEPPARD (l’ingrédient indispensable à toute bonne recette mélodique), une noix de MÖTLEY (surtout sur la voix), un soupçon de ENUFF’Z NUFF (juste pour la légèreté du plat), et juste ce qu’il faut de DOKKEN (période Under The Lock And Key, le nappage). Vous l’aurez compris, TRIXIE est un dessert. Le genre de dessert acidulé, moelleux, qui fond dans la bouche et qui laisse un goût de reviens-y à peine fini.
La première bouchée, « Hell Yeah », vous rappellera au bon souvenir de SLAUGHTER, Up All Night justement. « Day And Night », le second morceau, n’a pas oublié que le CRÜE savait être punky dans le temps.
« New Orleans Rain », doit certainement faire baver d’envie un TOM KEIFER, pas encore remis de l’échec de Heartbreak Station. La quatrième dégustation, « Inside Of Me » nous apporte la certitude que DEF LEPPARD était bien le plus grand groupe des 80’s. Quant à « Swimsuit », il doit autant a ENUFF’Z NUFF que les puits de pétrole aux Emirats-Arabes.
Alors, vous me direz, ça fait un peu pudding tout ça. Style, on met tous les restes dans la même auge, en espérant que ça ressemblera à quelque chose. Ben même pas vrai. C’est digeste. Léger comme une île flottante. Bien supérieur aux dernières production des groupes sus mentionnés. Un peu comme si KISS revenait en 2006 avec le même état d’esprit qu’en 1974, faire la fête avec le public. Alors, comme disait le vieux chroniqueur, celui la, ça va être plus dur de le trouver que de l’apprécier !!
Ah au fait, si vous avez des Americana taille 44 en bon état, je prends !!!
