FLESHDOLL voit le jour en 2001 dans le but de créer un groupe de Death Metal qui servirait la cause de la brutalité et qui serait ultra efficace et accrocheur. Voilà un programme fort alléchant. Il s’ensuivra la réalisation d’une première maquette en mars 2004. Au bout de ces quelques années de réajustement, FLESHDOLL parvient enfin à enregistrer son premier opus [w.o.a.r.g.] contenant huit titres bien furieux et écrasants. On pourrait même dire qu’on a droit à un Death old-school eu égard aux rythmiques et aux growls du leader Bastich qui ne sont pas sans nous rappeler ceux de Chris Barnes (ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE, SIX FEET UNDER).
D’ailleurs, à ce sujet, un morceau comme «Blessed Be The Woarg» nous rappelle à l’évidence que nous avons affaire à un groupe de Death qui a fait ses gammes en s’ingurgitant les disques de nos amis Floridiens. Cependant, au vu des compositions, FLESHDOLL a également bien digéré ses galettes gores puisqu’ils proposent des morceaux de bonne facture, où la production et la mise en place des titres sont soignées. Les titres que sont «Moshpit Crescendo» ou bien «Birth Of The Bastich» valent sérieusement le détour et démontrent que les hommes du Sud Ouest n’ont rien à envier à leurs homologues ni à pâlir devant la concurrence.
FLESHDOLL ou l’histoire d’un groupe qui sort de l’underground mais qui par ses indéniables qualités en terme de Death Metal tenace et hargneux pourra fortement prétendre à se faire une place dans la scène Death Metal hexagonale et internationale. Un travail de professionnel pour un projet qui a sérieusement de l’avenir. Une bonne surprise dont on attend avec impatience la suite !
