Deux ans après leur LP de cinq titres auto-produit, les Alençonnais de LEICHI.KO.VA ont réussi à boucler leur premier album Introspection, soit huit morceaux de Hardcore, en ne comptant pas les intros, interludes et outro présents sur la galette pour alourdir et assombrir l’ambiance.
Ca démarre lentement avec l’(intro)spection, morceau instrumental mi Ambient mi Trip Hop qui pose une atmosphère pesante et chargée, comme pour mieux laissé ensuite exploser la fureur Hardcore !
Personnellement, je me croyais sur un album de MORTIIS ! Non, non, je badine. Trêve de plaisanterie.
La première partie de l’album débute donc de façon percutante avec « (T)oxic (V)ision », et « Goût Amer », chansons bien construites et pensées.
Il s’ensuit alors de bons titres de Hardcore relativement bien étudiés tout le long de l’album même si les morceaux montent progressivement en puissance pour aboutir vers une deuxième partie d’album bien meilleure à mon sens. Je pense notamment à « In My Life », « Authority » ou « Asphyxie ».
Cependant, le chant revêche en français, qui, en dépit de la voix charismatique du chanteur, n’en demeure pas moins un idiome pas assez agressif et brutal à mon goût.
Les paroles acerbes et pessimistes de rigueur, bien que stéréotypées, participent à rajouter de la lourdeur aux compositions sèches et percutantes. Mention également spéciale aux lignes de basse, claquantes et bien mises en avant. La production moderne réussi de plus à mettre en valeur la recherche dans la construction des morceaux.
Bref, un bon début plus que prometteur en attendant la suite…
